Established in 1999, the Ministry of Education and Science of Poland (Ministerstwo Edukacji i Nauki) is a government ministry responsible for the development and implementation of policies related to education and scientific research in the country.
Its main tasks include:
- Developing and implementing policies related to pre-university education, vocational training and higher education.
- Overseeing and managing public schools, universities and research centers.
- Encouraging and supporting scientific research and innovation.
- Promoting international cooperation in education and research.
The Ministry of Education and Science of Poland works to ensure that all Polish citizens have access to quality education and training opportunities, regardless of their background or circumstances. It seeks to promote the development of a skilled and knowledgeable workforce, as well as the advancement of scientific research and innovation in the country. Additionally, the Ministry may work with other government agencies, including the Ministry of Health, to develop policies and initiatives that support the intersection of education and healthcare.
