Founded in 1963, the University of Rwanda is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the metropolis of Kigali (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants), Kigali Province. Officially recognized by the Ministry of Education of Rwanda, University of Rwanda (UR) is a very large-sized (uniRank enrollment range: 30,000-34,999 students) coeducational Rwandan higher education institution. University of Rwanda (UR) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor's degrees and master's degrees in several areas of study.
