The Central Library of Health Sciences at Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences offers the following:

• Free and equitable access to library services for students, faculties of MNUMS, and medical professionals.
• A diverse team of 20 employees providing services through 3 branches.
• Borrowing services and reference access to the library’s physical and electronic collection of over 156,000 items, including books, videos, in various languages, reading levels, and formats such as print, audio-visual, and e-content.
• Access to computer workstations, internet, and other digital resources.
• Spaces for meetings, events, and exhibits supporting lifelong learning.
• 3 branches in Ulaanbaatar, 3 branches in rural areas, and reading rooms in student dormitories and high schools.
• Total area of 4809.5 m2, with two buildings offering 895 seats, 6 book collections, and 14 reading rooms.
• Total of 179,840 books and printed materials, with approximately 132,112 (73%) medical books.

University Housing

Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences offers the following housing options:

1. Dormitory No. 1: Located in the 6th khoroo, Bayanzurkh district, Ulaanbaatar. It has a capacity of 360 students with a total of 102 rooms (85 rooms for females and 17 for males).
2. Dormitory No. 2: Also located in the 6th khoroo, Bayanzurkh district, Ulaanbaatar. It has a capacity of 360 students with a total of 95 rooms (78 rooms for females and 17 for males).
3. Dormitory No. 3: Located in the 12th khoroo, Bayanzurkh district, Ulaanbaatar. It has a capacity of 864 students with a total of 108 rooms (88 rooms for females and 22 rooms for males).

To enter the dormitory, the following documents must be submitted:

• Health Check Sheet
• If under the age of 18, early detection test results from the district hospital
• Dormitory contract

Within 24 hours of receiving the room allocation, students must complete payment of the room fee, provide medical examination results, print the room contract and room card from the student web, and then they can enter the dormitory.

The annual accommodation fee is:

• For Dormitories No. 1 and 2: 600,000 ₮
• For Dormitory No. 3: 800,000 ₮

Sport Facilities/Activities

This institution features sporting facilities and organizes sports activities for its students.

The Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences offers a range of sport activities and facilities aimed at promoting student and faculty health and well-being:

• The university provides sports and recreation facilities to enhance student sport and promote faculty members' health. All students and staff members have free access to these facilities.
• The facilities include 5 sport halls, 2 outdoor playgrounds, and 4 concert halls. Additionally, a new sports complex with a swimming pool is under construction in the east campus.
• Physical education classes, sports team practices, and organized sports events and competitions are regularly held throughout the year.
• There are dedicated times allocated for staff member sports skill practices every week.
• Sport Teams:
  • The university offers opportunities for students to compete and develop their skills in basketball, volleyball, handball, and cheerleading through courses and clubs.
  • There are 9 teams in total, with men's and women's teams participating in basketball and volleyball.
  • Our student teams consistently rank in the top 5 within student leagues and national competitions.
• In addition to university teams, 8 schools and 3 branch schools have their own clubs and teams in various sports.
• In recent years, the Women’s Volleyball and Basketball and Gymnastics teams have achieved "Bronze medal" status in the National Championship of Student Sport Competitions.
• Faculty and staff members actively participate in various sports competitions. The faculty teams in basketball, volleyball, and chess have won gold medals in major competitions among universities and health sectors.

Financial Aid

This institution offers one or more of the following financial aid for eligible students: scholarships, grants, loans, tuition waivers, emergency financial aid etc.

Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences provides financial aids through Student Development Loans aimed at enhancing learning opportunities for students. Approximately 250 students participate each term, with loan applications accepted every semester based on the credit requirements of the courses. Previously, loans were available to all eligible students, but since Government Resolution No.70 of February 19, 2020, eligibility has been focused on two specific programs: Bio-Medical Researcher and Public Health Researcher.

In 2022, the Ministry of Education and Science conducted a survey to identify priority professions, resulting in Resolution No.115 of March 29, 2023, which expanded eligibility to students in 10 programs at MNUMS. This revision has made financial support more accessible to students.

The university offers various on-campus degree programs, including diplomas, bachelor’s, master’s, doctorates, residencies, and subspecialties, all available through online and blended learning modes.

For bachelor’s and diploma courses, lectures are recorded and available as video resources within the Moodle system, facilitating flexible study options for students.

In addition to blended courses, MNUMS provides fully online open courses accessible to the public, citizens, and healthcare professionals. Recently, courses on topics like "Coronavirus disease (COVID-19): causation, epidemiology, prevention, pathogenesis, clinical features, diagnosis, and treatment" have been offered.

The university also offers online continuing medical education courses, allowing healthcare professionals to earn credits and receive certificates upon completion.

Students use the E-Learning system for various purposes, including taking exams, assessments, and tracking their academic progress online.

MNUMS also conducts blended and online courses for teacher development and personal growth among its faculty and staff.
