Established in 1842, the Universidad de Chile (University of Chile) is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the large metropolis of Santiago (population range of over 5,000,000 inhabitants), Region Metropolitana de Santiago. Officially recognized by the Comisión Nacional de Acreditación, Chile (National Accreditation Commission), Universidad de Chile (UCH) is a very large-sized (uniRank enrollment range: 35,000-39,999 students) coeducational Chilean higher education institution. Universidad de Chile (UCH) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor's degrees, master's degrees and doctorate degrees in several areas of study.
