Founded in 1722, the Université de Bourgogne (University of Burgundy) is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the suburban setting of the small city of Dijon (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Bourgogne-Franche-Comte. This institution also has branch campuses in Auxerre, Le Creusot, Nevers, Mâcon and Chalon-sur-Saône. Officially recognized by the Ministère de l’Enseignement supérieur et de la Recherche, France (Ministry of Higher Education and Research of France), Université de Bourgogne (UB) is a very large-sized (uniRank enrollment range: 30,000-34,999 students) coeducational French higher education institution.
