Founded in 1999, the IDEA League is a strategic alliance of five leading European universities of science and technology, namely ETH Zurich (Switzerland), TU Delft (Netherlands), RWTH Aachen University (Germany), Chalmers University of Technology (Sweden) and Politecnico di Milano (Italy). The alliance was formed in 1999 with the goal of promoting excellence in education, research and innovation.
The IDEA League offers a variety of programs and initiatives to support collaboration between its member universities, including student exchange programs, joint research projects and joint educational programs. One of its main initiatives is the IDEA League Doctoral School, which provides doctoral candidates with the opportunity to attend courses and workshops at all five member universities, as well as to participate in joint research projects.
