Founded in 1991, the Association of Independent Colleges of Art and Design (AICAD) is a non-profit organization that represents 36 leading art and design colleges in the United States and Canada. Founded in 1991, AICAD's mission is to strengthen and promote the value of independent art and design education, facilitate collaboration between member institutions and provide a platform for shared resources and advocacy. AICAD also offers various programs and initiatives, such as the AICAD Post-Graduate Teaching Fellowship and the AICAD Exchange, which allow students and faculty to explore interdisciplinary opportunities across member institutions.
