Established in 1948, The Association of Franciscan Colleges and Universities (AFCU) is a non-profit organization that represents 22 Franciscan institutions of higher education in the United States. These colleges and universities are rooted in the Catholic intellectual tradition and are committed to the Franciscan charism of "knowledge joined with love". The AFCU serves as a forum for collaboration among its member institutions, sharing of resources and best practices and promoting the values of Franciscan education.
