Founded in 1952, the Association of Specialized and Professional Accreditors (ASPA) is a US-based association that represents organizations that accredit professional and specialized academic programs. ASPA works to promote and advance the recognition of these programs and accreditors and to ensure that they are held to high standards of quality and effectiveness.
ASPA member organizations include the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET), the Accrediting Commission on Education for Health Services Administration (ACEHSA) and the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA), among others.
ASPA provides a forum for its members to share information and best practices and to collaborate on initiatives to improve the quality of professional and specialized education. It also advocates for the interests of its members to policymakers and other stakeholders.
Considering all this, according to uniRank ASPA plays an important role in ensuring that professional and specialized academic programs meet high standards of quality and effectiveness and that students and employers can have confidence in the value of these programs.
