The National Council for Higher Education of Uganda

Established in 2001, the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) of Uganda is a government agency responsible for overseeing the regulation and coordination of higher education in Uganda. The NCHE was established in 2001 under the Universities and Other Tertiary Institutions Act and its mandate is to ensure the quality and relevance of higher education programs offered in Uganda.

The council provides funding and support for research and innovation projects and it works to promote collaboration among higher education institutions, government agencies and other stakeholders.
