Founded in 1956, the Association of Southeast Asian Institutions of Higher Learning (ASAIHL) is a regional association of universities and institutions of higher education in Southeast Asia. It was founded in 1956 and is based in Bangkok, Thailand.
ASAIHL is comprised of over 240 member institutions from 17 countries in Southeast Asia and beyond. The organization aims to promote cooperation and collaboration among its members in the fields of teaching, research and community engagement.
ASAIHL sponsors a variety of activities and programs that support its mission, including conferences, seminars, workshops and exchange programs. These events provide opportunities for members to share knowledge and expertise, collaborate on research projects and explore new ideas and approaches in higher education.
ASAIHL also works to promote quality assurance and accreditation standards in higher education across the region. It provides support to member institutions in areas such as curriculum development, faculty training and assessment and evaluation.
