Established in 2015, The Eswatini Higher Education Council (EHEC) is an organization in Eswatini responsible for regulating and coordinating higher education in the country. It was established under the Higher Education Act of 2013 and its main role is to oversee the establishment, accreditation and quality assurance of higher education institutions in Eswatini.
The EHEC is responsible for maintaining a database of all higher education institutions in the country and ensuring that they comply with the minimum standards set by the government. It is also responsible for evaluating and accrediting new institutions, as well as monitoring the quality of education provided by existing institutions.
Additionally, the EHEC works to promote international cooperation in higher education and to enhance the overall quality of higher education in Eswatini. It is a member of several regional and international organizations, including the Association of African Universities and the Southern African Quality Assurance Network.
