Overview

The Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU) is a network of research universities from the Asia-Pacific region. It was founded in 1997 and currently has 58 member institutions from 21 economies.

The mission of APRU is to foster education, research and innovation to address the challenges facing the Asia-Pacific region and the world. The organization focuses on issues such as sustainable development, public health and cultural understanding and promotes collaboration among its members to address these challenges.

APRU sponsors a variety of programs and initiatives that support its mission, including research collaborations, student and faculty exchanges and policy dialogues. It also hosts conferences and workshops on topics of interest to its members, such as climate change, globalization and innovation.

One of the key areas of focus for APRU is sustainable development. The organization works to promote research and education on issues such as environmental protection, energy efficiency and social responsibility and supports initiatives that promote sustainable development across the region.
