Established in 1951, the Ministry of Education of Nepal is a government ministry responsible for the formulation and implementation of policies related to education in Nepal. Its role in higher education includes overseeing the establishment, recognition and operation of universities, as well as accrediting and regulating higher education institutions in Nepal. The ministry also sets standards for higher education programs and qualifications and ensures quality assurance and improvement in higher education through regular monitoring and evaluation. Additionally, the ministry provides scholarships and other forms of financial assistance to eligible students pursuing higher education in Nepal and abroad.
