The European Consortium for Accreditation (ECA) is a network of European agencies involved in the accreditation and evaluation of higher education institutions and programs. ECA was established in 2003 as a response to the need for a common framework for quality assurance and accreditation of higher education in Europe.
ECA is dedicated to promoting excellence in higher education by providing quality assurance and accreditation services that are based on internationally recognized standards and practices. The consortium consists of over 30 member agencies from across Europe and its activities include the development of guidelines and best practices for quality assurance and accreditation, the provision of training and support to member agencies and the promotion of international cooperation and exchange in higher education.
Considering all this, according to uniRank ECA has made significant contributions to the development of quality assurance and accreditation in Europe and its efforts have helped to promote greater consistency and transparency in the evaluation of higher education institutions and programs across the continent.
