The ASEAN Quality Assurance Network (AQAN) is a regional network of quality assurance agencies in higher education in the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) region. AQAN was established in 2008 with the aim of promoting quality assurance and enhancing the quality of higher education in the ASEAN region.
AQAN's main objectives include promoting the development and implementation of quality assurance systems and practices in higher education institutions in the ASEAN region, facilitating the recognition of academic qualifications and promoting mutual understanding and cooperation among quality assurance agencies in the region.
To achieve these objectives, AQAN engages in a range of activities, including capacity building workshops, training programs and conferences on quality assurance in higher education. AQAN also promotes the sharing of good practices, tools and resources among quality assurance agencies in the region and facilitates collaboration and partnerships among its members.
AQAN works closely with other regional and international organizations involved in quality assurance in higher education, including the Asia-Pacific Quality Network (APQN) and the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE).
Considering all this, according to uniRank AQAN plays an important role in promoting quality assurance and enhancing the quality of higher education in the ASEAN region. Through its activities and collaborations with other organizations, AQAN contributes to the development of a more robust and effective system of quality assurance in higher education in the ASEAN region.
