European Council of Leading Business Schools
Overview
Established in 2013, the European Council for Leading Business Schools (ECLBS) is a registered non-governmental and non-profit educational association based in the European Union, with the Republic of Latvia as its registered location. ECLBS boasts a diverse membership, which encompasses over 40 state and national quality assurance bodies and universities across Europe and beyond, in addition to professional and trade associations closely linked with business education. The association is governed by a board of trustees, each with their specific terms of reference, representing a spectrum of state and private organizations.
ECLBS, a non-profit educational association within the EU, holds the distinction of being an approved member of the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) International Quality Group (CIQG) in the United States. Additionally, it is an accredited member of the INQAAHE International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Europe. The association finds its institutional home at the V.I. Vernadsky Taurida National University in Ukraine and operates in collaboration with the ALCC Latvian Chamber of Commerce in Riga.
Furthermore, ECLBS has forged significant partnerships through signed agreements/Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with esteemed institutions such as:
- Further and Higher Education Authority MFHEA, Malta (EU)
- Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation CAEP, USA
- NVAO Netherlands - Accreditation Organisation of the Netherlands and Flanders
- The Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating IAAR, Kazakhstan
- Accreditation Agency KAA, Kosovo
- Authority for Quality Assurance of Higher Education, Mauritania
In addition to these, ECLBS has established affiliations with several other state higher education quality assurance bodies, further solidifying its commitment to upholding and promoting educational excellence on a global scale.
