Established in 1993, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) of Cambodia also plays an important role in higher education in Cambodia, particularly in the fields of agriculture, forestry and fisheries. MAFF is responsible for setting policies and strategies related to these fields and for promoting research and development in these areas.
MAFF collaborates with universities and research institutions to promote academic exchange and cooperation in the fields of agriculture, forestry and fisheries. It provides funding for research projects and scholarships for graduate students studying in these fields. MAFF also supports the establishment of research centers and the development of research infrastructure to enhance the capacity of research institutions.
In addition, MAFF is involved in the development of curricula and training programs in agriculture, forestry and fisheries. It provides guidance and support to universities and technical institutes to improve the quality of education and training in these fields. MAFF also provides technical assistance to farmers, fishers and foresters to improve their livelihoods and increase their productivity.
