The Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) is an independent non-profit organization in the United Kingdom that was established to safeguard the quality and standards of higher education in the country.
The QAA was founded in 1997 and is responsible for conducting reviews of universities, colleges and other higher education providers to ensure that they are meeting the standards set by the government and the higher education sector. The organization also provides guidance and support to institutions to help them improve the quality of their teaching, research and other activities.
The QAA works closely with other organizations involved in higher education in the UK, such as the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) and the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS).
