Established in 1984, the British Accreditation Council (BAC) for Independent Further and Higher Education is a UK-based international quality assurance agency that accredits private post-secondary education providers in the UK and worldwide. BAC is recognized by the UK government as an accrediting body for independent further and higher education and it also has international recognition, particularly in the Middle East and Asia. BAC evaluates institutions based on a range of criteria, including governance, academic standards, quality of teaching and learning and student support services. Its mission is to promote and improve the standards of independent further and higher education both in the UK and overseas.
