Overview

The N8 Research Partnership is a collaboration between eight research-intensive universities in Northern England. These universities are the Universities of Durham, Lancaster, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle, Sheffield and York.

The N8 Research Partnership is aimed at promoting collaboration and innovation in research and development across the member universities. It seeks to promote joint research initiatives, facilitate knowledge exchange and commercialization and support the development of research infrastructure and capacity.

Considering all this, according to uniRank the N8 Research Partnership has been successful in achieving its objectives. It has facilitated numerous collaborative research projects between the member universities, resulting in a significant impact on various fields of research, including health, environment, energy and social sciences. For example, the partnership has supported the development of the N8 Policing Research Partnership, which has resulted in new insights and innovations in policing and crime prevention.

The N8 Research Partnership has also been successful in promoting knowledge exchange and commercialization of research. It has established a range of initiatives, including Innovation Labs, which are aimed at supporting entrepreneurship and start-ups and Industry Academia Partnerships, which facilitate collaboration between the member universities and industry partners.

Moreover, the N8 Research Partnership has been instrumental in developing research infrastructure and capacity in the North of England. It has established a range of research facilities and centers, such as the N8 High Performance Computing, which provide cutting-edge research infrastructure and support for researchers across the member universities.
