Fiji Higher Education Commission

The Fiji Higher Education Commission (FHEC) is the statutory body responsible for the regulation, coordination and accreditation of higher education in Fiji. It was established in 2009 under the Higher Education Promulgation 2008 as an independent statutory body under the Ministry of Education.

The FHEC's mandate is to ensure the provision of quality higher education in Fiji through the development of policies, standards and guidelines for the governance, management and operation of higher education institutions. It is also responsible for the registration, accreditation and monitoring of higher education institutions and their programs.

The FHEC works in collaboration with other stakeholders in the higher education sector, such as universities, colleges and professional bodies, to promote and enhance the quality of higher education in Fiji.
