TU9 German Institutes of Technology is an association of nine leading technical universities in Germany. It was founded in 2003 with the aim of promoting top-level research and teaching in engineering and natural sciences. The TU9 universities are among the most prestigious and research-intensive universities in Germany and they are committed to promoting scientific excellence, innovation and internationalization.
The members of the TU9 are the Technical University of Berlin, the Technical University of Braunschweig, the Technical University of Darmstadt, the Technical University of Dresden, the University of Hanover, the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, the Technical University of Munich, the University of Stuttgart and the RWTH Aachen University. Together, they offer a broad range of degree programs in engineering, natural sciences and related fields and they conduct cutting-edge research in a variety of areas, including renewable energy, advanced materials, computer science and robotics.
The TU9 universities also work closely with industry and government to promote technology transfer and to address pressing societal challenges, such as climate change, sustainable development and digitalization. They are active participants in international research collaborations and student exchange programs and they strive to attract the best and brightest students and researchers from around the world.
