Established in 1969, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic (Ministerstvo kolství, mládee a telovýchovy Ceské republiky) is a government ministry responsible for the development and implementation of policies related to education, youth issues and sports in the country. Its main tasks include:
- Developing and implementing policies related to pre-university education, vocational training and higher education.
- Overseeing and managing public schools, universities and research centers.
- Supporting youth initiatives and programs, including youth organizations and activities.
- Promoting and developing sports activities and programs.
The Ministerstvo kolství, mládee a telovýchovy Ceské republiky works to ensure that all Czech citizens have access to quality education and training opportunities, as well as opportunities for youth engagement and sports activities. It seeks to promote the development of a skilled and knowledgeable workforce, as well as the physical health and well-being of the population. The Ministry may collaborate with other government agencies and organizations to achieve these goals, including the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Culture and the Czech Olympic Committee.
