Overview

Established in 1949, the State Ethnic Affairs Commission of the People's Republic of China (SEAC) is an organization responsible for promoting the development and protection of China's ethnic minorities. While SEAC's role is not directly related to higher education, it plays a role in ensuring that ethnic minority students have access to higher education opportunities. SEAC works with other government agencies to provide financial assistance, scholarships and other forms of support to students from ethnic minority backgrounds. SEAC also works with higher education institutions to develop programs and initiatives that address the needs and interests of ethnic minority students.
