Established in 1971, the Ministry of Education of Bangladesh is the government body responsible for formulating and implementing policies related to education in Bangladesh. Its role in higher education includes overseeing the establishment and administration of universities and other higher education institutions in the country, developing and implementing policies for higher education and providing funding for higher education institutions. It also sets standards for academic programs and evaluates the performance of higher education institutions to ensure that they meet these standards. The Ministry of Education of Bangladesh works closely with the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh to regulate higher education in the country.
